2011

It has been a long while since I have blogged on this sight. I have come to realize that blogging is a discipline that I haven't developed as of yet. =-) There is much that is on the horizon for our fellowship, we have just celebrated an Amazing Easter weekend. It always stirs the heart to remember that the tomb is empty! Every day is Easter for the children of the King!

As for the horizon, Summer is here and along with storms and the garden that means camp! July 24th thru 28th are the dates of this summer's camp and I am already getting excited thinking about it.

The building committee is still meeting and looking for a piece of property to purchase for a new building. Doors have opened and doors have certainly shut, yet they remain diligent in following the path that Father has laid out for us. Praise His Holy Name for the future He holds in His hands!

Be diligent to pray for wisdom and guidance in this area for our church, I am confident that God's will, will be done!

Easter 2010

There is a step---a decision to be made--a heart-set to embrace for those who follow the Lord. It was evident in the crowds that followed Christ's every step throughout His ministry. It was evident with our Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is still there for us today.

We all search for identity, for purpose in this life. Salesman, doctor, mother---so often what we do defines who we are. Others may tell us what we are, circumstances may force us to be this.

Yet, there is comes a day of decision what we embrace our God given purpose and His calling

From that day forward---it's not what we do anymore----it's who we are

just as a mother never stops being a mother from the day she becomes one---so do we not stop being a disciple of the Lord and His calling.

Jesus had his moment of decision in the garden---never had His humanity been more evident. He arose from His prayer---knowing fully who he was----Savior!

I have finally come to embrace mine----shepherd to His people.

On this Holiest of weekends---think about your Gethsemane decision---the heart-set that being a follower of the risen Lord is not what you do----it's who you are!

HE IS RISEN!! Blessings to all---JP

Merry Christmas

It is early on Christmas morning 2009. No one is up but me and the dogs. The sun is about to rise and shine on 7 inches of Christmas snow!

I am truly, blessed beyond measure! The house will be a buzz of activity in a few moments time, with the smiles and laughter of a joy that only Christmas morning can bring!

A full house, makes for a full heart during this season!

God's blessings and love to all my dear friends and family! May the joy of our saviors birth dwell richly in our hearts throughout the coming year!

Giving

In this season of giving, it is always good to look back on just how giving we really are.

We have been so blessed, with so much abundance, to hoard it and cling to it would not be God's will for us.

Giving is so much more than money and material things--tho these are crucial in these hard times. TIME is the most precious commodity that we have---I am more and more convinced of this.
How we hurry through our day--eyes focused on where we are going---doing what we came to do---and out the door we run.

LOOK UP! See what God has ordained for you this day! Then do it, material goods, encouragement, prayer. If God has orchestrated this---He HAS supplied!

Give that cup of water in Jesus name!

"Inasmuch as you have done this for the least of these, you have done it for me!"

May God's Blessing abound---JP

November 21 2009

So often we can be so consumed with the what--with the when---with the where and with the why, that we neglect the Who. So many of our questions, would be answered---so much of what we search for would be found---so much of what we covet--would lose its value---and thus it's grip---if we would only seek to know Him!

Our analytical minds so desperately seek answers that we can understand---for peace of mind, for comforts sake---for a sense of understanding all that occurs in life. If we look for any of the answers of life's mysteries in anything other than Christ---we search in vain.

Jesus was--is--and will always be, the missing piece of the puzzle in our lives.

Let this be our hearts prayer and desire: "THAT I MAY KNOW HIM." Philippians 3:10

Bless you, JP

Thankful

I am truly thankful for the group of believers that God has assembled at Grace Refuge!
I was so blessed by the praise and worship Sunday morning that I was bit flustered starting out with the message. {some may say this is nothing new! =-)} I wept as saint after saint came forward to display their cardboard testimonies. What a God we serve! Life after life changed by the Cross of our Savior! Thank you for touching the heart of your pastor.

We have much coming up in the Fall months ahead! First---we will begin sending forth our speakers on a weekly basis to minister to our brothers and sisters in Pampa, TX starting on the 27th! The schedule is posted on the blog page, and each of us will receive a copy to be used during our prayer time. Also on the 3rd Sunday of each month, we will send one of our speakers to Council Valley! Praise God for the opportunities that He has given us to serve Him and His people!

There is also a cook-out and hayride scheduled for October 25th at Brian and Andrea's house.

On November 13th and 14th---there is a Fall Retreat at Sunset Bible Camp! Make plans to attend---we are gonna have a BLAST!

Lastly, a heartfelt thank you for all the cards and the prayers and support that you wonderful people have sent and given---Shelley and I are truly blessed for such a excellent group of saints!

God bless you all! JP
